2012 Can-AM® DS 450™ X® mx

The DS 450™ X® mx is a motocross-inspired sport quad with a design geared towards performance. It comes standard with KYB HPG front and rear shocks, aluminum nerf bars and ITP QuadCross MX PRO tires on black aluminum ITP T-9 wheels. It also features an all-aluminum frame, hollow rear axle and inverted brake calipers. We think that it’s performance at its best. It's a pure racing machine and the repeated success in pro series has proven us right!

This no-weld frame offers maximum strength. Major components are secured with aluminum fasteners called lock-bolts that make it stronger and also lighter than a traditional ladder frame.

  • ROTAX 4-TEC™ 449CC, 45.3 HP LIQUID-COOLED ENGINE

The engine offering the largest bore (97 mm), the largest intake valves (38 mm), the largest throttle body (46 mm) and an almost-straight intake path. It breathes easily and can produce more power. It comes with a five-speed manual transmission.

  • KAYABA‡ HPG ALUMINIUM PIGGYBACK FRONT (C40) AND WITH REMOTE RESERVOIR REAR (C46) SHOCKS

With dual-speed compression, rebound and preload adjustments. These high-performance shocks give riders the flexibility of tuning the suspension to fit the terrain and riding style. A 272 mm [10.7-inch] of suspension travel is available.

  • HOLLOW REAR AXLE

The hollow, high-strength steel axle has been shortened by extending the length of the aluminums hubs. This shorter axle, mated with “spider” all-aluminum hubs with precision-machined splines and longer arms reduces the rear unsprung weight, which also significantly impacts mass centralization and dry weight.
