Liquid-cooled, 8-valve Rotax 976cc V-twin pumps out a class-leading 85 horsepower, yet is refined thanks to EFI and iTC. The liquid-cooled, single overhead cam power plant features 4 valves per cylinder, fed by a 54-mm Bosch‡ throttle body and 2 sophisticated VDO Siemens‡ fuel injectors.

  • BETTER THROTTLE CONTROL

This electronic throttle-by-wire system works in conjunction with the 2.13 in. Bosch8 throttle body to produce smooth delivery, even if the driver's foot is bouncing due to rough terrain. The iTC system detects unwanted bounces and filters the input. Comes with a progressive and sport mode.

The Can-Am Commander's Double A-arm front suspension is designed with dive-control geometry that works to eliminate diving under heavy breaking and rough terrain. The front end features 10 in of travel and five-way preload-adjustable motion-control shocks.

To further improve your off-road riding experience and give the Commander 1000 LIMITED extra functionality, Can-Am engineers added a four-speaker sound system compatible with iPod/iPhone and MP3 players, and offering a USB port and auxiliary input.
